SHA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MINUTES
NOVEMBER 2001
Minutes of the November, 2001 Meeting.
The Stonehenge Board meeting was held on November
12th at Sharon Miller's house, those in attendance
include: Wray Gillette,Don Collum, Sharon Miller,
David Smith, Diane Lahti, and Renee Sarver.
Diane gave a Treasurer's report. Currently, SHA has
$6,000 in a CD and $5015 in our checking account.
Income for the year exceeds expenses by $1376.70.
There was discussion about the need to spend this
money and how it should be spent. One idea that was
discussed is lighting the Stonehenge entrance signs.
It was generally agreed upon that this would be a good
way for homeowners to see their dues at work. Sharon
Miller volunteered to research how the signs could be
lit.
We also discussed the need to develop a budget for
next year and that a financial end of year
statement should be published in the next newsletter.
David Smith gave the results of the pine straw
sale and stated that 50 homeowners ordered 773 bales
of
pine straw. The net income to SHA from both the spring
and fall pinestraw sales was $247.45. Ten bales of
pinestraw were ordered for the
neighborhood signs.
Wray reported that the Halloween parade was a hit
and was well attended. The children enjoyed the fire
truck, hayrides and clowns. Wray will recruit
someone to write up a report for the newsletter.
Pictures were taken which can be used for the next
directory.
According to the new landscaping agreement approved at
the last meeting, Sheila Brewer is serving as
landscaping coordinator. There is a budget of $400
per sign for a total of $2400 per year. Persons
maintaining signs can charge up to $25 per month
for labor. There was much discussion about the care
and repair of the signs. David Smith stated that the
plywood lettering on the signs on Howard Road will
need replacement soon. A suggestion was made to
solicit someone to do this job in a future
newsletter. (It is anticipated that payment should be
offered for this job.) Renee volunteered to take
pictures of the signs.
We also discussed the board positions that need to
be filled next year. David Smith volunteered to be
President and Renee Sarver volunteered to be Vice
President. Nancy Ritter is willing to continue as
Treasurer, but is unable to attend HOA meetings on
Monday. Diane Lahti said that John Olin may be
willing to continue handling the membership database.
Lori Olin will be finishing her duties as newsletter
distributor. (Thank you Lori for getting us
organized!) We will need to find someone to take
over this position. At this time there are no
volunteers for Secretary. Sharon Miller knows someone
who is interested in doing the newsletter. Renee
will check with Toby Sarver to see if he plans on
continuing his role as the moderator of the
stonehengehoa Yahoo group. David Smith volunteered
to continue as pinestraw sale coordinator. The group
discussed
the need for developing job descriptions for the board
positions.
Renee Sarver volunteered to host the December board
meeting. She will send an email to see if board
members prefer to have our next meeting on Monday,
Dec. 10 or on Sunday, Dec. 9 in order to include
spouses. Either date will include a short meeting
and festive cheer.
A discussion was held regarding having a social
function next year before the pig picking to encourage
membership. Persons stated their opinion that this
event should be free to members. No decision was made
regarding what type of event this might be.
Submitted by Renee Sarver.
