HOW TO SUBMIT A REQUEST TO THE

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE

In accordance with the Stonehenge Covenants, all structures built on your property must be approved by the Stonehenge Architectural Committee.  Without this consent you may be forced to remove the structure.  However, if a reply from the committee is not received within 30 days of the submission of the plan, you have the right to proceed with building your structure.

The best way to submit a plan to the committee is to be specific. Include a site plan with a highlighted area where the proposed structure will be built.  If possible include pictures of your house and lot and draw in where the structure will be. Be as specific as possible about the dimensions, color, and style, etc. of your structure. If possible include pictures of similar structures.

Most importantly, be sure to be professional and polite in your request. You should receive a letter in response to your submission within thirty days.

Dear Sirs:

This letter is to request permission to build a fence at the above referenced address.  The residence currently has only a limited section of picket fence on the right front of the house. Our plan is to complete a backyard fence that matches the existing fence as well as those of the surrounding community.  We plan to install picket fence on the left front of the house. The remaining two lengths of fence would be a cedar post and three rail fence that would blend in with the wooded areas in the back yard. We have received a copy of the Protective Covenants for our lot and believe our plans to be sufficient.

We have attached a copy of a recent survey of the property and highlighted the plans for a fence.

Please confirm with us in writing that these plans are approved so that we can begin the building process.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at XXX-XXXX.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Regards,
