President's Message

By David Smith
Spring has sprung in Stonehenge. The community is awash in a rainbow of colors. Folks are working in their yards putting in new lawns, spreading pine straw and other ground covers, and replacing plants that succumbed to the dry fall and winter. We have a beautiful community and everyone is demonstrating their pride in where we live.
I've noticed many for sale signs. That means friends will be moving away, but it's also an opportunity make new friends. Please take the time to meet your new neighbors. Because our community is so large and is divided by a major highway we sometimes fail to reach out to our new neighbors. We need to welcome everyone and offer our kind assistance.
Your Board of Directors would like to hear from you. If you have concerns or questions, please contact me or any of the board members. We need for everyone to pay their annul membership dues. Elsewhere in the newsletter you will find a membership form. Please take the time to mail your check today.

Pig Pickin’ Cancelled

By Toby Sarver
Our Stonehenge HOA Board was hoping to host the Pig Pickin' event again this year around the beginning of summer. Unfortunately, the preferred location, Seven Oaks, will not be usable. Unlike previous years, it is not available before official opening due to painting. The alternative day suggested, June 1st, prevented the activities from starting at 8:00 pm. The Board determined these constraints severely hindered potential for a successful event. Unless other arrangements can be made, the event will not be held this year. If you have any alternative suggestions, please feel free to e-mail them to us via the web site, http://www.stonehengeliving.com. As always, thank you for your support and participation.

Last Call for Directory Advertising!

By Diane Lahti

If you are interested in advertising your business in the 2002 Stonehenge Directory, please contact Leo Hoarty at 848-6500 or jleoh@aol.com as soon as possible. The ad will not only identify your business but can also identify you as a Stonehenge resident. With more than 1300 homes in Stonehenge, your ad can target a prime market at a reasonable cost while helping to ensure that our neighborhood has current and useful directories.
Anticipated distribution date for the directories is late May or early June.

Now in its third year of existence, the Stonehenge Book Club continues to welcome new members and rejoice in the fellowship of continuing members. Meeting once a month on the second Thursday night, club members gather at the home of a different hostess each time. Books chosen must be in paperback and are available at the public library. Between Jobs – The Other End

By Don Collum

The response to establish a Stonehenge Network for job seekers realized a very minimal response. Activity towards this group has ceased.
For me, that’s okay. I landed just as Stonehenge Living was being distributed. I saw a posting on the web, called to get more info, sent my resume, 3 days later was prepped for a phone interview, had the phone interview, had an onsite interview, received an offer, and started work. From seeing the posting to having the offer was 8 days; from seeing the posting to working was less than2 weeks – very unusual.
It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close to my “ideal” job. For those still in the hunt, I wish you the best.
